faith is a journey

For some people faith is not a journey.  They start at one place and end at the same place.  They never move anywhere in their life.  I guess they feel that they have it "right."

However, in my opinion, since faith in God is a huge undertaking, there should always be learning, growing and changing.

Faith should be a journey.  Not a journey of learning more of the same, but a journey away from the starting point and towards what is real.  A journey away from how you were raised and towards what is relevant and normal.

As children or new Christians we are taught concrete ideas.  When we grow up, we can open our minds and consider other ideas.  I don't know it all and I don't have to know it all.

May all of us be on a journey.  Away from judgement, away from biblidolatry, away from the god that is small and towards a life of love and grace.  May we all move more and more each day into the life of love and grace.  Any ideas that get in the way of love and grace are not worth keeping.

It's a beautiful day in God's world be sure to see the good.
