Paris Normandy - Last day

We had a delightful trip.  On our last day we visited Les Invalides [the Invalids] which was a hospital for Napoleon's wounded soldiers.  Over the years it has been turned into a military museum.

The building was fantastic, the contents amazing.

Eiffel  Tower

Carvings above the entrance to the museum

100's of bronze cannon on display

we saw hundreds of fantastic suits of armor.
The museum has thousands of them.

World War 1 French tank

wonderful collection of toy soldiers.

1/600 scale models of towns and forts.  The Kings and Generals
used them to plan for defense and attacks.

Church of the Invalids.  A place where
wounded soldiers could worship.

WW1 cannons

Ball Turret from a B-17 Bomber

Napoleon's tomb.  Contrary to popular myth, he did not design
it and you don't have to bow down to get to see it.

so many people have come here over the years that many
of the marble steps were worn in the middle.

Arc de Triomphe
Absolutely Amazing!

Stone carving at the Arc

Underneath the Arc, names of French Generals
and the Battles that they fought.

What a blessing to go see these wonderful sights and to enjoy them with great friends.
We are home now and getting back into the swing of things.

It's a beautiful day in God's world be sure to see the good.
