on being yourself

There is an old saying: "be yourself, everyone else is already taken."
This saying encourages us to be
comfortable in our own skin.  We are invited to be authentically ourselves.  Might as well, who else can we be?  But some people do try, they do pretend.  There is no reason to pretend.  Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.

A friend sent me another saying that they came across:  "be yourself, they are going to judge you anyway."

Very interesting thoughts here.  Whether you try to pretend you are something that you are not, or if you are just your self, someone will judge you.  So if we are going to have people point the finger and judge us, why not just be ourselves.  It is exhausting to try and be someone else.

People won't always like who you are or what you do.  But you can only be you.  Be you and relax in the you that you are.  It is ok.

It's a beautiful day in God's world be sure to see the good.
