When we think of today's church, what do we think of?
Bishops and Pastors. Elders and deacons. Buildings. Service times. Traditional vs contemporary. The trinity. The sinner's prayer. Pot luck dinners. Pews. Choirs.
Jesus did not start any of that. JESUS DID NOT START ANY OF THAT.
What Jesus did try to start was a way of living, a way of love. Turning the other cheek. Helping the poor. Going the second mile.
Friends, as Christ followers in 2023, we need less church stuff and more Jesus stuff. They are not the same. Insist that your church engage in more Jesus stuff. Less doctrine and more love. Less rules and more grace.
