not seeing it

One of the sins of life is the sin of growing accustomed to a thing.  When a person first sees snow, it is amazing to them.  But after years, those who live with snow, find it annoying.

Another person moves to the beach.  Oh how they love the beach.  But after a while, they are no longer amazed by the beach.

This past weekend, my niece and her family were here.  As we pulled into the driveway after a dinner engagement, they noticed that a rocket had been fired from Cape Canaveral and was travelling through space, in our view.

I have seen enough of them that I was no longer interested.  But to them, it was huge.  They stood and watched it for 20 minutes.

I think that it is a sin for us to stop noticing the beauty of things.  We grow accustomed to amazing things and no longer consider their wonder.

Please take a moment and look at the things in your world and the people in your life.  Never lose the sense of awe and appreciation for them.  The world is a beautiful place to those who pause to pay attention.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
