take off your shoes

We like to get excited about things. We think we are right. We want to tell others how it is. We walk into a moment and think we are in charge.

We forgot to notice God's messenger, standing over there who says to us, "take off your shoes, for you are standing on Holy Ground."

This is our father's world after all, and so much of it, that we think we are in charge of, is really a place for us to be submitted to him. How does a situation change when we realize that God is present here, in this moment, in this place? Do we slow down? Do we bow the head? Do we take off our shoes?

There is a lot more holy ground in this world than we think. Next time we think that we have it all figured out, let's remember that God speaks, and people hush and listen.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.

Wow! Somehow this speaks loud and clear. I think you hit upon what goes on quite often in our world today! Thanks for this message. It is very powerful!

Great counseling. And while we have our shoes off, if we find the shoes of others around us, it might not hurt to step in theirs and try to walk a mile in the other "man's shoes." We are not only on Holy Ground, and all wearing shoes that we wouldn't have, except for God's grace. But we are all (including the other person) God's children.
