Uncle John

My wife’s uncle John’s memorial service was last week.  He was a great man.  Tall and handsome, he was the proud father of three fine children.  He was not my Uncle, but you wanted him to be, and he took us all in.  He was kind and funny and normal.  He was a hardworking man. 

 Uncle John reminds me of the old saying, “an apple doesn’t fall very fall from the tree.”  His dad, Cathy’s grandpa was a great man.  John’s son, Jay is one of the finest men that I know.

 I pray for his family and thank God for his life.
