too good not to share

A friend shared this story.... it is too good not to share.

Yesterday at lunch with some former business associates, one of the women talked about having just come from her church, and a very moving experience. She's a devout Catholic and long time member of Cure'ofArs church in Overland Park. Somewhere in the neighborhood of the church a man died. He had no family, and probably not many close friends. He had left a wish that, at death, he would like to be buried in a Catholic cemetery. After the mortuary contacted Cure's priest, he decided the lonely man should have a nice funeral service. So he contacted his entire church member list and told them of how alone in life the man passed, and asked their members to come to a funeral service yesterday morning, and be the "family he never had."

But the priest didn't stop there. He contacted two more Catholic churches in the area, and asked those priests to invite their church members. My friend was very moved by what resulted. She said at their church yesterday, it was standing room only, and she had to sit in the children's section to have a seat.

If this isn't what church is about, I'm not sure what more God could desire.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
