Grief

I was talking with a friend about grief...

A friend lost an adult child.
Someone's spouse died.
A young man was injured on the job.
Lung cancer.
Moving away from friends.
Heartache.
Loss.

Let's just face it, grief is no fun. It hurts and we hate it. Personally, when grief shows up, I don't know what to do but to keep on with life. Sometimes we think we are fine, and then the pain returns. Even pains from years ago can come back.

I don't think that we will totally escape grief in this life. Grief is a collection of scars, old and new, that fade with time and then reappear.

Keep loving life. Keep engaging new people. Keep your head above water.

One day at a time.

And remember, it is still a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
