The surprise of hospitality. It is odd, but when someone is nice to us, when someone is kind or hospitable, it can almost be surprising. We are so used to being stepped on by others and ignored, sometimes kindness is unexpected.
Try it yourself. Start practicing radical hospitality. Go out of your way to be kind to everyone. They will be pleasantly surprised, and you will find life much more enjoyable. It is surprisingly fun to be hospitable.
