helping orphans

Someone asked me the other day what they could do to help orphans.  This is what I told them....

Helping orphans is not the answer.  Helping orphans is a symptom of a life that is lived beyond one's self.  Begin to see every person as valuable, every person as a gift from God.  No one is an interruption, no one is an annoyance, no one is in your way.  Every one is God's child, everyone is an orphan.  Everyone is needing of care.

Do this, think like this, every day.  Over and over again.  Then to volunteer or reach out to help orphans in some specific way is simply an out growth of who you are and what you do.  You don't step out of your normal life to help someone, you are constantly helping someone and the recipient this time happened to be orphans.
