turn the other cheek

38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ 39 But I say to you: Do not resist an evildoer. But if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other also.
                                   Jesus in Mt 5:38-42

Have you forgiven them? Have I forgiven them?

Will I be able to do so? Will you?

If we don't forgive them, we will want to hurt them back.  Or we will hurt someone else.

The big question for me is this... can we be committed to continue at least working on forgiving them. Sometimes we can forgive easily. Other times, it takes more work. Sometimes, we have to stay after the process of forgiving.

It is never helpful to hurt back. But if we are holding a resentment because someone hurt us, it is going to come out and spill into our lives in some way or another.  We will end up barfing on someone.

Keep working on forgiveness.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
