Women's history month

Today begins women's history month and I want to say a few words about women in ministry.  Yeah!  Yeah!  Yeah!

The notion that women should not be pastors is archaic and very very hurtful.  Oh the Bible says that women should not be in authority over a man?  Ok, then let's fire women from the PTA, from the County Commission, from the State Legislature.  Let's stop them from raising sons.

When the Bible was written, women were property.  So were slaves.  We don't try to justify slavery anymore, so let's stop demeaning women.  Enough already.

I have met and listened to some fantastic women pastors.  One of the best preachers I have ever heard in my life is Karen Schuler.  God has gifted such people and they should exercise their gifts.  Anyone who cannot get this, well, they will just miss the blessing.

The Bible is full of stories of women who were leaders in the church.  If you don't believe me, look it up.  It is sad and even shameful that women still today are looked down upon by some.

If you have a friend, relative or acquaintance that is a woman in ministry, tell her thank you!

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
