pulling weeds

Jesus separated the weeds from the wheat.  He recognized that there was some good stuff and some stuff that had to go.  It is probably true for all of us, parts of us are great and parts of us need some work.

I have been pulling weeds at home lately.  Volunteer elm trees and volunteer red buds.  Milk weed, thistles, chickweed, and weedy weed.  They all just show up from time to time.  My friend in the Lawn business, Jon, tells me that if you don't get something good to grow on bare ground, nature is going to make something grow there and you may not like it.

From time to time we need to take a look at ourselves and admit to the weeds that are in our gardens.  Be honest with God and let God pull them.  The Holy Spirit is always working to make us sweeter and it will happen if we allow room for it.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
