awake in the night

Well, from the time of this post, a person might wonder, "did Jeff stay up late, or get up early?"

I used to be a morning person, then we had kids. Personal time didn't begin until they were in bed. I became a night person. Now that they are all grown up, I am a morning person again, which means I am in bed much earlier than I used to be. Important information that inquiring minds want to know.

Add a rainstorm to a 9:30 bed time, and I am wide awake at 1:30am.

Now, here is the good news. What is on my mind at 1:30am? A song. How do these songs get in your head in the middle of the night? I don't know, but it is always a blessing when the song that is stuck in your head is a song of faith in Jesus Christ.

Here it is. Maybe it will bless someone today.

Grace greater than our sin
1. Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt,
Yonder on Calvary's mount outpoured,
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilt.

Chorus: Grace, grace, God's grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God's grace, Grace that is greater than all our sin.

2. Sin and despair like the sea waves cold,
Threathen the soul with infinite loss;
Grace that is greater, yes, grace untold,
Points to the Refuge, the mighty Cross.

Chorus: Grace, grace, God's grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God's grace, Grace that is greater than all our sin.

3. Dark is the stain that we cannot hide,
What can avail to wash it away?
Look! there is flowing a crimson tide;
Whiter than snow you may be today.

Chorus: Grace, grace, God's grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God's grace, Grace that is greater than all our sin.

4. Marvellous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe;
You that are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive?

Chorus: Grace, grace, God's grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God's grace, Grace that is greater than all our sin.

I think that someone out there needs to meditate on these words.
Maybe it is you. Have a blessed day, I am going back to bed.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
