"people want you to be a rock star...give them the back lot tour" [let them see the broken parts of you and the church, then if they love the church, they will own it for what it really is. their commitment will matter, they will take ownership]
"sometimes the right decision breaks all the rules that you have come to know" [we read too many books on leadership. sometimes you have to make a call that is outside of the box.]
"do you remember when ministry was fun?" [it still is for me, but it is a great question]
"quit whining about passion" [sometimes you wont feel the passion, but you still have to go to work. sometimes you won't sense the Holy Spirit, but you will still have to get up and do the right thing.]
