river, part 2

Have you seen the movie, "A River Runs Through It"?

There is this theme of fly fishing.  The cadence of the arm casting the rod, over and over, again and again.  The solid humble family practice of fishing.  Two boys and a Dad.  Fishing, casting, raising kids, over and over.  Practice, muscle memory, consistency.

Life needs more of this.  Those things that remind you that everything is ok. Those things that strike a pose in your heart.  Those things that have somehow reached into you and made their mark.  A river runs through it. Your history still speaks to you.  Our upbringing never leaves us.  The seeds that are planted just keep growing.

It is an interesting spiritual feeling, an interesting sense of God's work in our lives.  These things from our youth keep coming around.  Appreciate them.  Cherish them.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
