weeds

Last night I pulled some weeds. It had rained all day, and finally quit about 5pm. It was cold and wet and windy, but the best time to pull weeds is after it has been raining for a long time. The ground that is normally hard and unwilling to relinquish a weed, gives them up freely after a long rain.

I pulled a big bag full of weeds. There are still more, but I got a ton of them out of the ground. Several weeds that I pulled delivered the entire tap root 8-10 inches long.

All of us have weeds in our lives. Things that we wish weren't there. Things that we would like to change. These too come out the best after a long soaking in the sweet rain of the Holy Spirit. Submit your heart to God. Call on him. Pray. Keep praying. Pray through. Give up every last selfish thought. The softer a heart becomes, the easier it is for God to pull the weeds.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.

Love the analogy. I guess pulling weeds in a partially frozen rain brings out some good stuff in you.
