July 4th

I shot these photos last year on the 4th. Movies that will surely be on this weekend..... Saving Private Ryan, The Longest Day, the Patriot.

As a kid.........black cats. Black cats that cannot be shot off until 8am. House rule. Later in the day, watermelon, Ward Parkway Swimming Pool, Laying in the grass watching big fireworks.

On July 4th the whole country stops to give thanks, as we should. Have fun today, but pause to give thanks for the gifts of America and the sacrifice that made it all possible.

We are having church tomorrow, so don't stay out too late.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.

Awesome photos.

A bunch of us went out to Powell Gardens last night for their fireworks display--it was the best I've seen in years. Prior to the display, the Lee's Summit symphony played some fabulous music which ended with the William Tell Overture that led into the fireworks. It was so cool.

My childhood memory--sitting on the porch/patio hitting caps with a hammer. Pretty safe until you hit your own finger. ; )
