This week and next week, United Methodist leaders from all over the world are gathering in Dallas-Ft. Worth for General Conference. GC is the highest body of the UMC. They decide issues related to doctrine and structure. GC happens every four years. Each GC produces a new or revised Book of Discipline.
Every four years at GC there is local and sometimes national news coverage. Usually only the folks on the fringe get interviews. The interviews can make it sound like we are all going off the deep end, but reasonable minds always prevail.
Cody Collier and 7 other friends from Missouri are in Dallas now. Keep them in your prayers. Always pray for your church, staff, and leaders. Lord knows, we need it. Bless you.
