peace and quiet

One of the blessings of the morning is that there is peace and quiet. The TV is off. I am the only one in the house awake. In such moments, if you stop and listen, you will hear the ticking of the clock, the hum of a neighbor warming up a car, the windchimes outside on the deck and a cat lapping up water.

If you also listen in these quiet moments, you can hear the voice of God. Comforting, embracing, and restoring you. What if you started getting up 10 minutes earlier than you need to, just so that you can sit in the quiet and spend a few moments alone with our Father. Sometimes all a person needs to do to find the calm in the midst of the storm, is to find the calm.

Turn off the TV. Sit down and listen. What do you hear?

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.

One of the priceless treasures in our noisy world...the early morning quiet. Reminds me of how Jesus would go off by himself to pray, and I like to think that He enjoyed the quiet times.

Last night I stepped outside at about 7:00. There were no cars going up and down the street. Just snow falling and complete peace. It was fantastic. I invited my wife out to enjoy it. It was great. TW
