No words are needed

There is a lovely John Wesley quote, "Preach the gospel.  When necessary, use words."  The point of that statement is this: how we love people will go much further in reaching another person than our words.

Sometimes we feel that we need to speak when we should really just keep quiet.  Love people and stop trying to fix them.  Stop trying to fix things.

In times of grief, humans are notorious for trying to say something to fix it.  It can't be fixed.  People need to hurt.  Let them grieve.  Many of the words that are shared in a funeral visitation line just hurt the people that we are trying to comfort.

No words are needed.  Just hug them.  Just love them.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
