I was listening to a fellow, A.J. Jacobs talking about gratitude on the Ted talk radio hour.

One of the things that he said was that happiness is different than gratitude. He said that happiness does not create gratitude, but that a grateful heart always grows happiness within. If we can count our blessings, if we can remember what we are thankful for, happiness can show up.
