thank you

This evening, we will hold a memorial service for one of our members, Jim Truschke. Jim died suddenly, or so it seemed to me. He also died too soon. I am not sure that we were done with what we could have been or done together here on earth, but we don't ever get the choice of when we go.

Here is one thing that I want you to know about Jim. There was a time many years ago, that our church was in trouble. The future of our congregation was in doubt. About 100 people, and that includes children, made the commitment to work it out and dream for a better future. They did not all always agree with each other, but they agreed to work for our mission of connecting people to Jesus Christ.

Because of the work of these early Woods Chapilians, the stage was set, the doors were opened for all of the blessings that we experience today. Those who worked so hard back then, hold a very special place in my heart. I say thank you to all of them, and thank you to our friend, Jim Truschke.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.

It's a beautiful day in God's world . . . be sure to see the good . . . and you, Jeff Brinkman, can always find the good. You are a true man of God, and we are fortunate to be blessed by your words each day. I did not know Jim, but, still, I find comfort in your words about him and am grateful for the legacy he has left for us at WCC. ~kb
