Don't run the water while you are brushing your teeth. Always keep a spare car key around. Pay your bills before you go out on the town. Don't engage in a land war in Asia [Princess Bride line].

Save for college. Attend class. Get to work a few minutes early. Make yourself indispensible to the company. Go to church. Be friendly. Don't talk on the cell phone when you are in line somewhere. Give people plenty of privacy in an elevator. Don't feed chocolate to dogs. Don't put off til tomorrow what you can do today.

Keep your feet on the ground. Do the right things. You will be glad that you did later. Good decisions early make for a happy life later.
