what are you leaving behind?

There is an interesting story in the news today about a fellow who was pulling a trailer of baled hay. The brakes on the trailer overheated, starting a fire in the hay. The man then drove around looking for a water source to put out the fire. Unfortunately, he left a trail of burning hay along the way, which started several fires behind him.

At the end of this day, what will you leave behind? I don't believe that we were put here to be selfish, or to wound people. One of the reasons we are here is to bring good to others. John Wesley said, "do all the good you can, to all the people you can, in all the ways that you can."

We are called to be dispensers of grace. So, the next time you are angry or upset, don't start a fire and drag it around behind you all day. You will only leave a real mess in your wake.

Catch yourself. Pray. When we pray, we get ahold of our emotions and thoughts and we give them to God. He can change us in those quiet moments. He can help us to become grace bearers.

What will you have left behind at the end of the day?

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
