enjoy life

Cathy and I were driving.  A friend was with us in the back seat.  The friend's husband called.  His sister had died.  He was sobbing, as you would expect.  Hearing other people's deep grief is very difficult.  When he finally found words, he said to his wife, enjoy today, enjoy being with the Brinkmans.  Live life this day to the fullest.

I loved that.

The notion that we only have this moment.  We can struggle on, we can be on auto-pilot or we can intentionally strive to enjoy and savor this day.

Also, how beautiful it was that although he was in deep grief, he wished his wife a beautiful day.  No matter what is going on with us, we can wish others a beautiful, enjoyable day.

Enjoy today.  Savor today.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to be the good.
