sad trash

The first full day of our trip to Napa we had to make a stop in the morning at the Urgent Care.  Nothing big and scary but a needed stop.

While Cathy was inside seeing the Doc, I waited outside in the beautiful California weather.  A car pulled up across the parking lot.  Two teenage boys hopped out.  I would guess them to be 14.  The car drove off.  The boys took about ten steps and then just dropped their trash in the middle of the parking lot.  As they walked off I wanted to shout at them.  "What is wrong with you?  Who do you think you are?"  But I did not say anything.

Instead, I walked over, picked up the empty McDonalds containers and sacks.  I walked 30 yards to a trash can and threw the trash away.

It does not take that much effort to do the right thing.  We should all do everything that we can to love others and apply ourselves to good living.  This is how we make the world a better place.  We cannot control what others do, but we can certainly control what we do.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to be the good.
